Senayan Archery Field (Lapangan Panahan Senayan)


10 September 2016. Fusi, Sate, and I took part in an archery training program @ Senayan Archery Field (Lapangan Panahan Senayan). It’s kinda “farewell party” for Sate, because she will leaves the country immediately to earn her masters degree at Imperial College, London. You can enter the field through Gate VII GBK. It’s rather difficult to reach it if you don’t ride your own vehicle, I suggest you to use either Uber or Go-Jek.

The coaches gave a briefing (about safety protocol and whistle commands, basic equipment, how to shoot, etc.) to all participants before we start our session. The “basic steps” of how to shoot are : stance & posture, nock (finger & hand placement), hook string and place bowhand, set up (extending the bow arm), drawing the bow, anchoring, aim, and the last but not the least is release (


targets are placed at around 10 m from the archers, each of them is 122cm in diameter with a 10 ring 12.2cm in diameter

There are around 10 people participate in such 2 hours (8-10 am) training program. Fusi, Sate, and I were given 3 strandard bows, 15 arrows, 3 finger tabs, 3 arm guards, and 1 target. It can be seen that the 3 of us are “tim hore” for this training session 😀

Step-by-step training protocols : A coach blew the whistle as a sign of all participants are able to shoot the target. After a few minutes, when all arrows were released, coach blew the whistle again as a sign of all participants can remove their arrows from targets. After target area had been clean, coach would blow the whistle again as a sign of all participants are able to shoot the target (again). Throughout practice, the coaches watched and gave correction for the good technique.

When you are releasing the arrow from the bow, I suggest you to watch the direction of your arrows carefully, don’t allow them to fly far away from target, because it will be very difficult to find them among cogongrass. Additionally, sometimes you cannot remove the arrows from the target easily (mungkin karena cewe-cewe bertiga ini belum pada sarapan sebelum latihan hehe, jadi nya tak bertenaga), you can solve the problem by pulling it by 2 people (the first person hold the head, whilst another hold the bottom), or if the things get harder as you can handle it anymore, you can ask some help to the coach 😀

Just fyi, Coach Rizki is a very nice person, he watched and gave correction to “tim hore” seriously. But unfortunately, apa daya skill emang ga sampe, so that I thought that it didn’t improve our skill at all wkwk. He is a good photographer also, he directed us some nice pose ala-ala, therefore we can yield a number of instagram-able and path-able photos muahahahahaha~

3 sriKENDI feat. a good archer guy in blue tees, who can launch most of his arrows at 9 / 10 concentric scoring rings in the target (paling cuma 1 yang meleset ke zona lain), I thought that tim hore‘s skill almost similar to him 😀 the ONLY difference between us and him is we can shoot an arrow at 9 / 10 concentric scoring zones, while others meleset ke zona lain hahaha (udah syukur Alhamdulillah ga terbang ke arah rumput-rumput yang bergoyang tu anak panah, bikin susah aja nyarinya hehehe)

Plaza Blok M Shooting Range


24 July 2016. My brother and I planned to do our very first experience in gun range. As far as I know, there are only two shooting ranges in Jakarta, the first one is located in Senayan, while another one is located inside Plaza Blok M – Bulungan. We picked the range in Plaza Blok M, because it costed us 50K for 35 bullets, while the price in Senayan is >500K. What a significant difference!!! The Plaza Blok M Shooting Range is an indoor range, which is located on 4th floor. You can find the entrance directly from parking area.

We arrived around 11 am. Perhaps it’s kinda too dramatic, but a second before I stepped through the door, I felt a little bit intimidated and frightened. I thought it’s likely just because it was my very first trip to a range…… When I stepped in the range, I was a bit surprised that there are only small number of visitors there. Oh, come on, it’s weekend! I wonder if it will have greater number of people on weekdays???? I hope the answer is yes, but if it does to the contrary, I’m scared that the range will be closed permanently soon hiks. Please come and join the fun, people!

They have 2 types of weapons to be rented : handgun and rifle. Both have different types of bullets, also different size of shooting targets. Considering the size of the gun, I (height : 155cm) chose the handgun instead of rifle. On the other hand, my brother (height : around 175cm) picked the riffle. Then, we decided to use our first 25 bullets on our own, then we exchanged our gun. So, I shot 25 handgun bullets and 10 rifle bullets. Yay!

If you have no idea how to use the weapons, don’t worry, because the officer are ready to teach you. Listen to him carefully, and don’t hesitate to ask any questions you might have. Always remember to watch where the muzzle is pointed, have a good handle on your gun, and keep your finger off the trigger until you ready to shoot! Such indoor range has electric target hanger things. They are operated by 2 pushbuttons on the table located just right in front of your chair. If you push the button, the clip comes towards you, and if you push another button, the clip will go further away. The last but not the least, the most fun part –> load up your gun and shoot! ❤

how to handle your handgun

Based on my experience, it was much easier to use rifle. I got 76 points for 10 rifle bullets, and 67 points for 25 handgun bullets. I thought I can be the next (women version of) Leroy Jethro Gibbs muahahahaha. It took not longer than 1 hour to finish all 35 bullets plus take so much cool pictures with the gun. When you’re all done, don’t forget to remove your paper target from the clip. You can either save or throw away your target. Me? Of course I keep them!!!

Kartini Day 2016


Friday, 22 April 2016. Well, before I start telling my superb experience to spend the Kartini Day, I’m about to tell you another story. But, I won’t share details about it *kesel ga? bikin penasaran doang yaa haha*

Where do I have to start? Hmmm yesterday (21 April), I found myself very happy, enormously happy *gausah tanya kenapa hihi*. If you know the thing, you would probably think: it’s just a thing! But, for me, obviously it’s a big thing ❤ *bingung kan pasti*

Then, on 22 April morning, when we celebrated the Kartini Day, I was still happy 😀 I was happy because of the Kartini Run and aerobics competition (a part of 2016 Kartini Day celebration) and of course, I was happy because such memorable occasion yesterday afternoon *lebe banget haha*

Buuuut, after office hours, I got unexpected bad news. I mean, it’s a bad news for me…. As a matter of fact, such news surely had been known by them (pelaku kegiatan tersebut maksudnya) for long enough. Still, I did not know about the news at all, (luckily or unluckily?) someone just told me about it on 22 April, after office hours. Aaaaaannnd, for now on, maybe everything is already too late………………………. Hmmm, no!! It’s never too late, but (almost) everything will be different by tomorrow 😦

Ah, it’s so sad 😦 *speechless* Well, be patient Shab! And always believe that something wonderful from Allah swt. is always about to happen, bismillah.

You are not allowed to stay sad for a long period of time *nanti jadi panjangan curcolnya, dibanding cerita Kartini Day nya*, hence I will start telling my nice experience to spend the Kartini Day. Yiihaaaa~

In my office, there is annual celebration of Kartini Day. Last year, I participated in Kartini Run 2015. This year, I also participated in Kartini Run 2016. In addition to that, I joined aerobics competition afterwards.

Not longer after that, we got involved in aerobics competition, and I got my new numbers. Actually, we were supposed to wear traditional dresses (kebaya, etc.) to participate in aerobics competition. It’s adorable! Buuut, it’s impossible for me and some of my friends, who already taken part in Kartini Run.

Next, we (Mba Hana, Mba Indah, Winda, Sabi, Mba Nay) had breakfast together, along with other participants in aerobics competition. We were ravenous after our workout session haha. They served dimsum, lasagna, toast, zuppa soup, etc. I had dimsum and lasagna, what a hearty post-workout feast <3.

While the others (other friends of mine) already back to their own room, because they did not want to regret their times-to-burn-500-calories-but-only-five-minutes-to-get-them-back. No!! Just kidding 😀 The truth is, their bosses are not as generous as ours wkwkwkwk.

I joined tennis coaching program (provided by my office) about a month ago. We practice 2 hours / week on Friday night. Eventually, I got my Monday-through-Friday-sport-schedule complete: afternoon run on Monday and Thursday; yoga class on Tuesday at noon and zumba class on Tuesday afternoon; play badminton on Wednesday; and tennis training on Friday night.

In addition to that: I join 2 hours Saman dance practice with Sanggar Tari Badhaya Nusantara on Saturday and I love to do morning run in Car Free Day which takes place every Sunday morning. No, no, no, don’t get me wrong, I won’t be so exhausted, because such listing is just a kind of ‘template’ hehe. By looking to the fact, there will be some ‘off-day(s)’ because I want to meet my friends, have dinner outside with them, watch movie, etc. or sometimes I just want to hit my bed right after office hours, so that I skip my practice on that day 😉

Okay, let’s get back to the tennis things. We practice tennis in Elite Club Epicentrum along with our coach, Pak Tanto. Oyaa before practice, Belis (another friend of mine) and I love to run on the jogging track next to our tennis court.

After tennis practice, I usually get pain in my right arm, since the racket is bigger than me 😀 and it is quite heavy (for me). Moreover, I have to hit the ball strongly to make it cross the net. And you have to remember that I also practice badminton on Wednesday. Well hey, stop that never-ending-whining and start to be grateful that I’m just 24 years old and still single *kenapa jadi curcol*, therefore I can decide what am I going to do on my own, before there comes a time when I have to go home on time to take care such household things, my (future) husband, and eventually my (future) children ❤ *makin panjang aja curcol nya* So yes, I must attend the practice every Friday night, thus I can be a pro in a short time bismillah 🙂

My Yoga Class

I join yoga class twice a week, on Tuesday and Thursday. It is a lunch-time class, which is held in the office, during our work day. Our yoga guru named Mba Eti.

What are Your Goals for Yoga?

Based on my experience, yoga class will not support your weight loss. In my opinion, losing weight depends on the foods you are eating and the amount of it.

Meanwhile, yoga has many positive effects for your body. It can help you get through stressful work days. Almost all yoga poses utilize deep breathing. As a result, they give relaxing affect for your nervous system.

Moreover, as a newbie yogini, I feel that yoga poses also can lead to increase flexibility and improve my body strength. To achieve this goal, I would probably suggest that more is usually better 🙂

A Glimpse of Zumba

Zumba is an aerobic-dance mix, which was founded by Beto Perez, a Colombian dancer and choreographer. Fyi, zumba is a trademark. The choreography includes hip-hop, salsa, merengue, etc.

What Goes Down in My Zumba Class

I join zumba class after office hours, in my office (Zumba Hulu – Pertamina Pusat). This one-hour-class is held every Tuesday and Thursday, along with an instructor. It’s a bit hard for me to do some zumba choreography, particularly that booty shake heftz! As a result, you will get sweaty excessively after the class. One word about my zumba class: it’s addictive!

Gatau sejak kapan tepatnya saya mulai suka sama olahraga sejenis ini, karena seinget saya, dulunya olahraga yang betul-betul saya suka cuma renang. Sepedaan sama lari hmmm bisa dibilang saya lakukan karena ‘ada udang di balik bakwan‘. Sepedaan cuma karena dibeliin sepeda, sayang kalo ga dipake sepedanya 😀 Lari juga, karena mau tes lari jaman TPB, karena mau interaksi himpunan, karena buat medcheck, dll.

But, currently, I do love running. Saking senengnya, kadang-kadang dilakukan 2x, 3x, bahkan 4x dalam seminggu haha. Nah, di postingan ini saya mau cerita: saya udah pernah cobain lari di mana sajakah?

1.  Kantor Pusat PT. Pertamina

Jadi begini cara bacanya (siapa tau ada yang bingung, tapi bisa jadi yang nulis lebih bingung daripada yang baca hehe): 17 April 2015 jam 6.23 pagi saya lari dengan total jarak 3.15 km (5 laps), ditempuh dalam waktu 21 menit 28 detik. Kalori yang dibakar selama lari kira-kira 136 calories. Pace lari saya pada saat itu: 6 menit 49 detik per kilometer nya.

Lari kali ini adalah lari dalam rangka mengikuti running event yang diadakan oleh PT. Pertamina, untuk menyambut Hari Kartini 2015.

2. Monas

Untuk cara pembacaannya, idem 🙂 Jadi, di Monas ini ada beberapa ukuran track. Untuk lari, saya baru pernah mencoba 2 ukuran track: track #3 (penamaan ini sesuka hati saya yaa) di gambar kiri, which one lap gives a distance of 1.80 km; dan track #2 di gambar kanan, which one lap gives a distance of around 1.1 km (4.02 km, it means saya lari sekitar 3.5 laps).

Nah kalau untuk jalan sehat, saya baru mencoba track paling luar Monas (track #5), which one lap gives a distance of possibly 5 km. Saya berjalan ga sampai 1 lap (almost 1 lap, a few more), sekitar 4.74 km, dalam waktu 1 jam 10 menit 6 detik, dengan kecepatan 5.4 km/jam, dan pace 15 menit 48 detik per kilometer. Total langkah saya sekitar 102 langkah (tapi agaknya untuk bagian yang ini kurang valid) dan kalori yang dibakar selama berjalan kira-kira 210 calories.

Anyway, ini adalah rute lari yang paling sering saya lakukan nowadays, karena unfortunately pintu Monas yang di seberang Gedung Pertamina Pusat ditutup permenanently hiks.

Lari dimulai dari seberang kantor sampai pintu Monas di seberang Istana Presiden, kemudian balik lagi. Kenapa cuma lari segitu? Kenapa ga sekalian kelilingin Monas nya aja? Karenaaaa…… biasanya saya lari after office hours kalo mau Zumba. Kebetulan kantor tempat saya bekerja pulangnya jam 4 sore, jadi jam 4 teng saya turun, lari ke Monas, jam setengah 5 sampai lagi di kantor, kemudian saya Zumba deh 😀

3. Stadion GBK

Ini dia yang hampir selalu crowded, terlebih di Sabtu pagi. Di GBK ini, (menurut pendapat pribadi saya) lebih enak untuk lari malam hari, karena runners nya ga sebanyak kalo lari pagi-pagi, terus gaada orang-orang yang senam sampai nutupin jalan juga kalau malam hari.

4. CFD (Sudirman)

Nah, menurut saya ini adalah the most enjoyable track compared to others. Kenapa? Hmmm karena track nya lurus, jadi ga kerasa ternyata udah lari sejauh itu 😀

5. Taman Langsat

Ini dia venue baru rekomendasi dari kakak Sate (makasi Sateee!). Agak-agak ga paham sih kenapa tampilan nike run nya begini. Karena signal GPSnya jelek kali ya? Entahlah….. Lari 3 keliling di taman yang rindang dan track nya naik-turun (ga datar, serasa lagi di Bandung) ternyata asik juga.

6. Saraga, Bandung

Jaman-jamannya belum kenal sama aplikasi nike run. Kalo saya pribadi agak-agak kurang suka sih lari disini, karena berdebu banget. Ini adalah track lari betulan di pinggir lapangan bola. Mungkin kapan-kapan kalo lagi ke Bandung dan pengen lari, bisa dicoba lari sambil tracking di nike run.

7. Lapangan Banteng

Lucu deh ini larinya di tengah kota, maksudnya sebelahan banget sama jalan raya, dan karena sama dengan Saraga, yaitu track lari betulan di pinggir lapangan bola, jadi sama-sama berdebu dan bikin sepatu kotor hiks. Track lari di Lapangan Banteng ini suka rame sama (kayanya) atlet-atlet muda yang lagi latihan, btw mereka pada keren-keren bangeeet stamina nya (yaiyalah! haha).

8. Sekitar Kosan (Karet Setiabudi)

Hmmm signal di daerah ini emang suka rada-rada, jadi tracking lokasi yang dilakukan nike run pun hasilnya keriting begitu hehe. Honestly, agak takut sih sama track nya. Yap! Track, yang mana adalah jalanan aspal buat kendaraan lewat juga, sempiiiit. Tapi gapapa, yang penting selalu hati-hati aja yaaa, dan ini enak banget lokasinya, karena tinggal buka pintu gedung kosan, sampe deh 😀 Keluar kosan, pemanasan bentar, yuuu mulai lari.
