Bandung : Eta’s Wedding, Bakso Soun Lodaya, LOL, Alun-Alun Bandung

17 October 2016 is Eta’s wedding day!!!!

I woke up early, then I salat subh, took a shower, wore my soft contact lenses, put on the make up, and dressed. After the six of us (the other participants of this trip: Mba Hana, Ndai, Manda, Dea, Rani; and I) got ready, we waited for Fika to pick us up from the hotel to the wedding venue in Graha Mangunggal Tridaya Cakti, which is also situated on Gatot Subroto Street, Bandung (similar to our hotel, Chara Hotel).

pardon my selfie 😀

Then, the seven of us (plus Fika currently) arrived a little too late on the venue, but Alhamdulillah we still had chance to see Eta’s solemnization kyaaaa! They had Javanese tradiotional ceremony for their wedding……. Not longer after that, the solemnization was finished.

After the wedding reception had finished, we returned to hotel, wore our casual clothes, salat zuhr & asr, then strolled around the city yay! Oyaa, since Fika came a bit late in the morning, she didn’t join the morning photo session, thus we held afternoon photo session hehe. But unfortunately without Ndai, because she’s already gone outside with some of her college friends.

yhaaa begitulah~

Our first destination was Bakso Soun & Mie Ayam Lodaya (beef ball, rice vermicelli, and chicken & mushroom noodles) on Veteran Street. I love beef ball so much, and their beef ball and rice vermicelli tasted delicious! ❤

pretended to be happy when in fact we were soooo hungry~

Next destination was LOL (Lick Over Lips) on Emong Street (near to Batagor Abuy). We had delicious ice cream there, and they allow the customers to add topping by themselves hihi. I chose bubble gum, yakult, and cheese cake flavor with astor, pocky, and marshmallow topping.

Fika went home thereafter, whilst Dea returned to Jakarta, because she had another agenda on Sunday morning. Currently, there was only the 4 of us (Mba Hana, Rani, Manda, and I). So that, we decided to go to alun-alun (square). Alun-alun Bandung on Saturday night was extremely crowded (kalau mau sepi jam 2 pagi aja yesssh ke sininya hihi).

Sabi and Mba Hana @ alun-alun

We headed back to hotel on 8 pm, because we were a bit sleepy at the moment. I took some photos of interesting hotel-corridor, before I took a shower, salat maghrib & isha, and slept.

I hate to say these, but I have to 😦 Unfortunately, I had 2 bad experiences with Chara Hotel : 1) AC for my room didn’t work well, it was so hot and inconvenient!; 2) I found a cockroach in my room 😦 I hope Chara Hotel can make some improvement for such problem immediately.

à bientôt!

Ratu Busana – Pasar Sunan Giri (part 3)

31 August 2016. I would be one of the bridesmaids for Eta’s wedding day. Thus, I came to Ratu Busana – Pasar Sunan Giri, Rawamangun in order to turn the fabric from Eta into a wiron skirt. Other bridesmaids (Fika, Dea, Rani, Mba Hana, Manda, Ndai) and I (my gang in the office –> Princess Jombs gang wkwk) agreed to wear a black top and grey veil also on the day 🙂

Ratu Busana promised me to finish it in a week yippieeee~ It costed me 175K, I gave them 50K for a down payment, and will pay the rest (125K) next week.

1 week later……….. I visited Ratu Busana once more. When Mbaknya gave me my wiron skirt, I believe my reaction to it is just like………….. Meh. I. Don’t. Like. It. *shocked* On the other hand, I have to do the fitting things, and it turned out that the skirt fits me perfectly in a matter of size, but I don’t like the style at all hiks~

I paid 125K to them, went home by Uber, got my room, and felt so miserable. I looked to my skirt once again, and felt more awful. Y they had to make it into a pencil skirt (I don’t ask for it!), because it resulted a big-horrific-black triangle on front-side 😦

Therefore, I turned on tv, and watched CSI, so that I will forget my sadness quickly. After a couple of CSI episodes, I texted Yolan and Seba, tell em ’bout my problem. But, their reaction really surprised me, they said my skirt looks good 😀 OK, I’m a bit happy currently yay!

20160908_174640 20160908_174703

*what a coincidence! my skirt matched my bed sheet!* the tumpal yielded a big-horrific-black triangle on front-side | back-side *is it good? I still can’t believe haha*

17 September 2016. The day!!!! Early morning, I woke up, salat subh, took a shower, had breakfast, wore my soft contact lenses, and put on the make up. Then, I wore my failed skirt, black top, grey veil, black wedges, and the last but not the least I grabbed my black clutch also. We took a lot of photos while waited for Fika to pick us up from the hotel to the venue *I will enclose those photos in my next post 😉

Oyaa apparently, a friend of mine also turned her fabric from Eta into a wiron skirt. Buuut, the tailor didn’t make it into a pencil skirt. I really envy her when I looked her skirt in the closet. But, after we all wore our monochrome uniforms, the truth revealed –> my wiron skirt looked like a perfect wiron skirt, on the contrary it seemed like it’s unclear whether it is a wiron skirt or not for my friend’s hmmmm.

Dea, Rani, Mba Hana, Manda, Sabi, Ndai @ Chara Hotel, Bandung. A friend of mine in her wiron skirt (Manda) stood right next to me, but I think such photo don’t show the difference between both of skirt crystally.

Shelly and Sabi. Can you see my skirt well in this photo?

Dasar emang Sabi sotoy maksimal haha. A life lesson I can take away from this experience : just believe in the tailors of Ratu Busana, insyaAllah they know the best for your desire ❤

I wish for the other members of Princess Jombs gang to follow Eta immediately. Kiss kiss!

Ratu Busana – Pasar Sunan Giri (part 2)

Continuing story of Pasar Sunan Giri part 1…..

For the wedding of Yolan and Uda Usmar, the bridesmaids were going to wear red colored top (I don’t know the name of such kind of fabric, bahannya agak mengkilap) dan bawahan songket. Both of them arrived safe and sound in early September. Whereas, the wedding would be held in the middle of October 2015. Thus, I hastily put them in ‘Ratu Busana‘ shortly after that.

I wanted to transform them into a long sleeve peplum top (tanpa furing) with the ribbon waistband and a half-finished skirt, I mean bawahannya nanti still looks like a saroong, but I don’t have to struggle to put it on me without any assitance from my mom yeaay~ They costed me IDR 370K. Just like my previous experience, after the tailor finished doing body measurements of me, I paid DP of 50% to confirm my order, and ‘Ratu Busana’ promised me that they would finish it in the next 2 weeks.

2 weeks later….. I visited ‘Ratu Busana’ again. On that day, my songket has already been done. Despite the fact that it’s a bit different to what I told to the tailor 2 weeks ago. Nevertheless, I did not complain about it, because the result is pretty good! (untung nya yaa saya orangnya tidak ribet dan tidak banyak mau haha). So, I can directly take it home, Alhamdulillah~

Buuut, it is so obvious that there will always be a problem in your life. Well, my current problem is the red colored fabric was separated from the songket naaaah. Consequently, I had to wait mba di ‘Ratu Busana’ looked for the fabric for a very long time………………….

Then, after all this time *lebe*, the fabric was found, buuuut bentuknya masih sama seperti ketika saya serahkan 2 minggu yang lalu. Hmmm, *inhale exhale* I mean they haven’t transform it into a peplum top syalalala~ *speechless*. *take a deep breath* I don’t feel dizzy because of it though. Thankfully, I am not a procrastinator, Alhamdulillah 😀 I’m just…….. very surprised by the fact hehe. Well hey, don’t complain about your problems, there is still much to be thankful for. Thank God for problems you don’t have 🙂

As a result, mba di ‘Ratu Busana’ turned really really helpful afterwards muahaha. She phoned me everyday, told me about the progress of my peplum top. Alhamdulillah di saat lagi jomblo, ada yang nelfonin tiap hari gini *loh*.

3 days later……. On Tuesday afternoon, my peplum top has already finished kyaaaa~ See? So many good things are coming down, just dont stop walking, because someday, everything will make perfect sense. Also, don’t forget to be grateful. Never let the things you want make you forget the things you have.

Voila! What do you think?

I would probably say that I am very very happy with the result. In my opinion, it is nice, and my friends think so. If you wonder about whether saya kapok atau tidak menjahit di sana lagi? Clearly, the answer is no! It may seem that I suggest you: kalau kalian mau menjahitkan kain yang kalian punya di Ratu Busana-Sunan Giri datanglah dari jauh-jauh hari, don’t be a procrastinator! 😉

Ratu Busana – Pasar Sunan Giri (part 1)

In 2015, 2 of my college best friends were getting married. They are Yolan and Lia. I was chosen as one of their bridesmaids, along with Seba and Chita. Hopefully, the three of us will soon be getting married as Yolan and Lia did, aamiin.

Lia’s wedding held on November 2015, while Yolan’s took place on October 2015. However, brokat and furing from Lia came first (in early August). Definitely, I won’t discuss about the fabric thingy in further details, because I am not an expert in this field. Nah kan gimana mau nikah?? It would be much better, if we have profound discussion about rocks *the real geologist is here* *pencitraan* 😉

Jadi ngelantur kemana-kemana gini ngomongnya. Bon, I’ll get straight to the point, this is the beautiful package from Lia, yang dikirim jauh-jauh dari Jogjakarta.

couldn’t be sweeter than this :3

I spent hours a day Googling, I looked for some ideas for what to do with these kinds of fabrics……. Then, I decided to turn them into a maxi dress. I thought that light pink gown will make you feel like a princess. Finallyyy got to realize my childhood dream of being a princess (just as every little girl’s dream) kyaaa~ thank you Lia ❤

I imagine myself in such dress. Source:

To have my dream dress come true, I need to buy another type of fabric to be utilized as the flared skirt, which will be attached to the bodice of the dress. I tried to ask many people the same question, and finally I got the answer: I have to buy satin for my desired skirt. As a result, I went to Toko Fancy in Pasar Mayestik with a friend of mine (Eta). It is a highly recommended place if you are looking for good and affordable fabrics. I thought it was serendipity that I came in super-sale time, and I bought 3 meters of pastel pink satin in Toko Fancy (IDR 35K / meter) Alhamdulillah~

Next, I looked for a good kebaya makers around Kuningan-Gambir, and people suggested me to go to Pasar Sunan Giri, a place where I can make a great kebaya and it won’t cost much.

The calendar may say it was the middle of August 2015, I headed to Pasar Sunan Giri with Eta (thank you so much Taaaa!). We visited a bunch of stores there, in order to compare prices from all of them. Eventually, I picked ‘Ratu Busana‘, because they offered me the lowest price untuk model dress yang saya inginkan. Moreover, I respected ‘Ratu Busana’ because they gave some advices to me, but still fit in with my desire. Ada toko lain yang bilang “jangan dibikin dress, soalnya bla bla bla~” lah yang mau pakai bajunya kan saya, kenapa jadi dia yang ngatur? Bhaaay~

The dress costed me IDR 350K. Since I thought I am slim enough, thus I did not put corset in it, saya hanya ingin menggunakan baju manset biasa nantinya. So that, I don’t have to worry to not capable of eating much on Lia’s wedding day *loh* 😀 Then, saya juga tidak memodifikasi brokatnya (digunting-gunting pola bunga-bunga brokat nya kemudian dijahit membentuk pola tertentu pada kain tule / tile kosong). Are you confused? So am I~

After the tailor finished doing body measurements of me, I paid DP of 50% to confirm my order. ‘Ratu Busana’ promised me that they would finish it in the next 2 weeks.

2 weeks later….. I visited ‘Ratu Busana’ again, unfortunately I had to face the truth that my dress had not finished yet. It was already looked like an amazing princess dress, buuut without buttons and the lowest part of the dress had not been sewn. Hmmm aku sih oke~ secaraaa Lia’s wedding will be held in the next 3 months hihi, I still have a lot of time yippieee! Buuut, I was completely confused at the moment, because it’s a  totally different  from what I want, I mean ini modelnya tidak sama dengan yang saya gambarkan ke penjahitnya 2 weeks ago~~ However, I did not complain at all, because I really love my dress!!!

2016-02-14 19.25.30

@ fitting room – Ratu Busana. This is my lovely gown for Lia’s wedding, without the ribbon waistband. What do you think? ❤

Mba di ‘Ratu Busana’, who helped me at my dress fitting, told me that I can take my dress home by tomorrow. Buuut, it would be tiring me if I had to bolak-balik Kuningan-Rawamangun almost everyday huhu, therefore I decided to take it home 2 weeks later yeaaay!!

my final dress @ Lia’s wedding reception (14 November 2015)

Begitulah pengalaman pertama saya menjahit di Ratu Busana-Pasar Sunan Giri. Kapok? Not at all!!! The result is astonishing. Buuut, I suggest you one thing: don’t be a procrastinator 🙂 On the next post, I will share my second experience menjahit di Ratu Busana-Pasar Sunan Giri for Yolan’s wedding.

Pekanbaru – Duri: Day 2 & Day 3

17 October 2015. We woke up pretty early in the morning, because we had to queue for take a bath and the girls must apply make up before we went to Yolan’s wedding reception kyaaa! But, before that, we had a brief chitchat at the living room, also we had bolu meranti (brought by Cukong, Chita’s boyfie, from Medan this morning) for breakfast, then we got acquainted with Kak Bembi and kak Rosa (Uda Usmar’s friends, they used to work in Dubai).

After we got ready, we went to Lancang Kuning Hall (Yolan’s wedding venue), which is located in Camp Chevron Duri.

Kak Rosa, Sabi, Chita were in front of the homestead

This camp is utterly enormous. We drove the wrong way~~ Alhamdulillah, finally we could reach Lancang Kuning Hall at around 11.30 am. When we arrived, the groom and the bride were yet to come and there were only a small number of people there, thus we could take pictures yeay!

my make-up, thanks Chit for capturing me :*

Eventually, the groom and the bride come! Yolan is totally gorgeous, I am very happy to see them 🙂

Having finished at the reception, we went back to the homestead. Can you guess what we did afterwards? Yessss, slept~ I got up when I heard Yolan’s voice. Was it a dream? In fact, it was not a dream, it was real haha. She already stands at the door, intended to take us to have dinner outside yippieee!

Uda Usmar, Hardang, Sabi, Mayang, Seba, Yolan @ Martabak Mesir

18 October 2015. We felt full and we headed back to the homestead. We had a short sleep and woke up around 1 am, because the door-to-door travel would pick us up at 2 am. We went directly to the Pekanbaru Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport (PKU), for the Lion Air flight to Jakarta at 08.25 am. Alhamdulillah, without delay…..

Because I did not have a time to stroll around Pekanbaru, therefore I bought souvenirs in this airport. They said it would be more pricey, buuuut I did not have any choice hehe. I purchased a box of very very delicious durian pancake ‘Megarasa’, very very good durian lempuk ‘Megarasa’ (I am not lying and I am not a fan of dodol and lempuk, buuuut I really love this one), and very very tasty bolu kemojo 😀

À bientôt!

Jogjakarta: Lia’s Wedding, Kalimilk, Ullen Sentalu Museum, Lava Tour Merapi, Sate Klathak Pak Pong

14 November 2015. Chita and I woke up, prayed subuh, took a bath, ironed our dresses, applied makeup, and eventually, we (Ronald, Wilsen, Chita, and I) were ready at around 7.45 am. We headed to Masjid Kampus UGM (Lia’s wedding venue) from Greenhost Prawirotaman (our hotel) by a rental car. We did not know how to get there, hence we just relied on Waze and Google Maps. We arrived at approximately 8.30, a little too late, but we still had chance to see Lia’s solemnization kyaaaa!

Shortly after that, wedding reception was started. After we gave congratulation to Lia and her husband at the aisle, we ate hehe. I was completely peckish, as we did not have time to have breakfast that morning….. Then, we took a lot of photos there. Unfortunately, Jogja was so damn hot 😦

After the reception, we changed up to casual looks because we would stroll and explore Jogja yeaaay! Thankfully, some of our friends stayed in Wisma Kagama, which is located just a stone’s throw from Lia’s wedding venue. Therefore, we could go there to remove our makeup, pray, also change our clothes.

Then, we went to Kalimilk. We just ordered various types of milk there (I mean we do not have any meal), as we were still full…. In my opinion, my cookies milk tastes good, despite the fact that I can have such kind of milk in Jakarta or Tangerang haha. But, it’s okay, since they said that this place are really happening currently in Jogja 🙂

@ Kalimilk

Next, we headed to so far away Ullen Sentalu Museum. We paid 30K/person for entrance fee, then we went around the museum with our friendly tour guide. Sadly, we can only take photos in some particular places. The thing is, all goods in the museum were someone’s personal collections…..

the ticket

@ Museum Ullen Sentalu

Our following destination was Lava Tour Merapi. To do such kind of tour, we had to ride jeeps with seating for 1 driver and 4 passengers. We chose 500K package/jeep for 2 spots: batu alihan (batu alien) and ‘Sisa Hartaku’ Museum.

The most exciting part of this activity is the off-road adventure. Moreover, the driver in the jeep I was in was totally ………… *speechless* my long sleeve t-shirt and my jeans get wet, also my head’s spinning like a carousel, nevertheless it was sooooo utterly fun!

we’re ready for the off-road

yeayness overload~

Then, we headed to sate klathak Pak Pong for dinner. We were really hungry and unfortunately, traffic jam is everywhere on Saturday night……

sate klathak

IMHO, such sate klathak is tasty, it tasted almost similar to kambing bakar cairo. Buuuut, kambing bakar cairo is much more delicious haha.

Yap, this was the end of our journey today. Next, we went back to the hotel, and slept. Tchao!
